Today, we support businesses across areas including transport, commercial vehicle, liability, personal accident, and cyber insurance, providing solutions that are practical, responsive, and tailored to individual needs.

Our team

M R Ratcliffe Consultants Ltd (company number 2127940) was set up in Cheltenham back in 1976 as a specialist insurance broker focusing on the transport industry. From those small beginnings we have grown into one of the UK’s leading brokers. We advise on and arrange insurance cover to suit your needs.

A combined 300 years of insurance experience under one roof.

Expertise

Most of our staff have been with the company for years. They have built up deep knowledge and experience, whether advising you on insurance covers and prices or handling those unfortunate claims when they occur. This long-term expertise gives us great pride in offering a personal service to a large number of long-standing customers.

Qualifications and membership

M R Ratcliffe Consultants is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), registration number 309607.

We are a long-standing member of the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA), the UK’s leading general insurance intermediary organisation, which represents the interests of insurance brokers, intermediaries and their customers.

Finally, as transport insurance specialists, we are members of both the Road Haulage Association (RHA) and Logistics UK (formerly the Freight Transport Association).

Relationships

Strong working relationships with our insurer partners are important to us. The development of tailored schemes has been essential in allowing us to provide you, our customer, with wide insurance covers, immediate cover, streamlined documentation and an excellent claims service. Our tailored schemes are also available through other market intermediaries.
